There is a brand new sport that is like surfing, wakeboarding, and flying all at once. If you’ve ever been to Pismo Beach on a windy day, you will see over two dozen kiteboarders in the water or doing tricks high above it. Most of these riders are ordinary people that are simply addicted to this amazing extreme sport called kiteboarding.
Kiteboarding uses the wind to combine the aspects of surfing, snowboarding, wakeboarding, and windsurfing into one extreme ocean sport. The kite, anywhere from 6-20 square meters, powers the rider through the water. The kite will have either 4 or 5 lines up to 27 meters long that connect to a control bar, which the rider pushes and pulls to control the kite in any direction. The bar hooks into the rider’s harness, which is most often worn around the waist. A board similar to a wakeboard or surfboard enables the rider to fly over the water. For 2010 we focused on adding features to differentiate the Zealot in the area of extreme weather protection. The Zealot is available in either a double-lined (flex) or hybrid (mesh top, flex lower) option. We now use matrix mesh, the revolutionary neoprene with a 3d matrix of air chambers which traps heat and keeps you warm. Also for the inner lining we use bamboo charcoal for its inherent anti-microbial and anti-odor properties.
MATERIALS
Neoprene made with a 3D matrix of air chambers that traps heat and increases buoyancy and flexibility. It consists of a sandwich construction with a middle layer of perforated neoprene to trap air. The air pockets insulate the body the way double-paned windows insulate a house. The end result is a warmer and lighter suit without adding thickness.
Top-performance, super-flexible and lightweight closed-cell neoprene. Superb insulation properties, soft and with an embossed micro-texture for added durability.
Top-of-the-line double-laminated material. Super stretch and lightweight with an abrasion resistant outer and a four-way stretch inner.
Lightweight, quick drying polypropylene insulation. The cellular structure traps an insulating layer of warm water next to the skin, keeping the core temperature up.
Bamboo Charcoal is known for its inherent antimicrobial and anti-odor properties. This natural fiber is woven into our lining to provide the hygiene benefits.
FEATURES
The E3 entry system is comprised of a pull-over bib and gusset that forms a water-tight neck seal and prevents water from entering through the back.
Limestone based neoprene from Yamamoto Corporation, Japan. The smooth closed cell neoprene has a unique coating that makes it 95% water impermeable compared to 70% of the normal petroleum based neoprene, therefore it sheds off more water. Also compared to the standard petroleum based neoprene, S5 has a 23% higher closed cell ratio that keeps you warmer by providing the maximum wind chill protection.
An efficient, water-tight seam created through a triple gluing process in conjunction with a blind stitch that does not fully penetrate the rubber. The technique allows precise, curved seams and facilitates a snug, anatomically correct fit.
Seam sealant made of polyurethane. Stretchier and thinner than any other seam sealant on the market.
A highly durable, abrasion resistant PU print technique
A water venting system in the ankles releases water caught in the suit.
