Welcome to California Kiteboarding.

Recognize any of California's greatest Premier Kiteboarding Locations?

Pismo Beach, Morro Bay, Oceano, San Simeon, and Cayucos, Waddell, Scott Creek, Crissy Field, Cresent City, Rio Vista, C-Street, Mission Bay, Seal Beach, Jalama, and some other spots we have yet to kite!

----

There is a brand new sport that is like surfing, wakeboarding, and flying all at once.  If you’ve ever been to Pismo Beach on a windy day, you will see over two dozen kiteboarders in the water or doing tricks high above it.  Most of these riders are ordinary people that are simply addicted to this amazing extreme sport called kiteboarding.

Kiteboarding uses the wind to combine the aspects of surfing, snowboarding, wakeboarding, and windsurfing into one extreme ocean sport.  The kite, anywhere from 6-20 square meters, powers the rider through the water.  The kite will have either 4 or 5 lines up to 27 meters long that connect to a control bar, which the rider pushes and pulls to control the kite in any direction.  The bar hooks into the rider’s harness, which is most often worn around the waist. A board similar to a wakeboard or surfboard enables the rider to fly over the water. Check out our kites, boards, and harnesses here

We carry Naish, DaKine, Slingshot, Neil Pryde, Caution, NPX, Starboard, Creatures of Leasure, Ocean and Earth, Werner, Garmin, AzHiAzIaM, MBS, and much more.

Save The Waves Coalition: Chile Earthquake Relief Update - Tuesday, March 9, 2010 1:00 PM

Save The Waves Coalition: Chile Earthquake Relief UpdateSave The Waves field teams hit the ground running in Chile.

March 6, 2010, Pichilemu/Curanipe, Chile - Save The Waves Coalition’s Chile relief ground teams have begun to distribute initial relief supplies to towns and villages that were hardest hit by the recent 8.8 - magnitude earthquake and following tsunami. Teams have been traveling south from Pichilemu through the remote coastal areas and inland, reaching as far south as Duao in the northern part of Region VII, and supplying aid in small, hard-to-reach towns along the way.

Save The Waves has been working with nonprofit Waves for Water to supply water filters for clean drinking water to devastated communities where homes, restaurants, and entire fishing fleets have been completely destroyed. There are currently 1,000 filters now either in or en route to Chile, for distribution to coastal regions, in addition to other supplies. While initial relief effort progress has been significant, much more support and assistance will be necessary in the coming weeks as Chile continues to recover from this massive disaster.

My name is Arnaud Frennet. For those of you who do not know me, I am a Naish rider for both SUP and windsurfing based here in Chile.

As I am sure you have heard, we have been hit by a devastating 8.8 earthquake that was followed by a tsunami.

My family and I have been very fortunate given the circumstances, despite some material damage (the tsunami reached our house in Punta de Lobos but did not destroy it).

Unfortunately, some of our friends and neighbors did not have the same fate and lost everything. We put all of our energy into helping them recover.

All of the surfing, SUP, kiting and windsurfing communities have come together to help. The most damaged areas extend from Tirua to Pichilemu, which is the most famous area for watersports in Chile, and for sure one of the most intense on Earth.
